Kimberly Richardson
Kimberly Richardson is a thirteen-year survivor of ovarian cancer (Granulosa Cell Tumor, Stage IIIA) and early-stage triple-positive breast cancer whose lived experience anchors her work as a patient researcher and national leader in equitable, community-engaged biomedicalinnovation. As Founder and Executive Director of Black Cancer Collaborative, she leads a national organization addressing disparities in cancer research participation, precision medicine access, and survivorship outcomes, while serving as a patient researcher on multiple pharmaceutical- and academically funded grants — contributing to study design, patient engagement strategies, and dissemination approaches that center inclusivity and real-world relevance. She served as Lead Researcher on a Genentech-funded project in partnership with Northwestern University and the University of Chicago, developing a scalable, hyper-local engagement model combining survivor-led training, researcher–community dialogue, and co-created digital content that produced a replicable framework for integrating patient-generated data into research systems. Ms. Richardson contributes to national research governance as a patient representative to the NCI Central Institutional Review Board (Late Phase), the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and ACGME Review Committees, and serves on the Board of Governors for PCORI — guiding investments in patient-centered outcomes research and real-world evidence that form the foundation for next-generation digital health tools, including AI-enabled systems and digital twin frameworks.
