Jameca Routen

Jameca Routen is an accomplished healthcare leader with more than sixteen years of experience in population and global health. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Tisdale-Woods Foundation, where she leads initiatives that integrate innovation and equitable access to address systemic health disparities.

Her journey began as a Dental Assistant; an experience that sparked her lifelong commitment to oral health and mental wellness. Building on that foundation, she earned a Master of Public Administration from Tennessee State University and went on to serve in statewide leadership roles. Her career expanded globally as she directed field programs in China and Africa focused on capacity-building and sustainable healthcare development. These international experiences deepened her expertise in cross-cultural communication and reinforced her passion for advancing health equity.

Ms. Routen’s leadership has been widely recognized at both the grassroots and global level. In 2023, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joseph R. Biden for her transformative leadership and commitment to volunteer service. Jameca has also been honored by the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) for her contributions to public health and violence prevention. As Tisdale-Woods prepares to celebrate 100 years of service, Ms. Routen is committed to breaking barriers through non-traditional models of care. Her visionary perspective and technology-driven solutions help amplify community voices and will leave a legacy of sustainable healthcare transformation.
