Dr. Cheryl Beal Anderson, PharmD MBA, Vice-President, Global Regulatory Affairs and Quality, Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC, Maple Grove, MN. After leading regulatory affairs and strengthening the department in 2015, Anderson was given additional responsibility to oversee quality as the company was transitioning its product offerings and integrating with its new owners, Sawai Pharmaceuticals. Building a team of three senior director, total of 100 staff located across four US sites, Anderson is responsible for the global regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance and quality organizations interfacing with its parent company in Osaka, Japan. Anderson is responsible for the regulatory affairs, safety and quality policies, high-impact regulatory matters, risk assessment as steward of the regulatory health authority relationship needed to gain and maintain product approval to deliver high quality products to customers and patients.

Before coming to Upsher-Smith, Anderson’s career included roles at Lundbeck, Eli Lilly and Company, Pfizer, Parke-Davis and Alcon Laboratories. Anderson championed business success as a management representative on the Eli Lilly Diversity Council. She was the first Eli Lilly Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) Rising Star Award recipient and Center for Leadership Development Award recipient in Business. Anderson was a member of the organizing committee member that established the Parke-Davis/Pfizer African-American Employee Business Network and the Pfizer Women’s Network. She held academic University faculty positions and clinical researcher at University of Texas at Austin and the University of Illinois at Chicago Colleges of Pharmacy.

Anderson received MBA, Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing, St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA, August 2015; completed a ASHP, Accredited Residency in Psychiatric Pharmacy Practice, The University of Texas at Austin, College of Pharmacy, The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Clinical Pharmacy Programs; earned Doctor of Pharmacy from The University of Texas at Austin, College of Pharmacy, and The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Clinical Pharmacy Programs; BS in Pharmacy, The University of Texas at Austin; and BS, Biomedical Science, Texas A&M University.

Anderson currently is a member of the Board of Directors for the Center for Healthcare Innovation and the National Advisory Board for University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. She served a 3-year presidential term (president-elect, president, and past-president) for the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, Indiana Chapter.
