Reducing Health Inequities for Marginalized Communities

Making clinical trials more diverse and inclusive for all patients

Diversity in Clinical Trials

We provide cutting-edge research, the latest insights, and industry best practices of how to build a more diverse and inclusive clinical trial ecosystem that includes patients of all backgrounds. By bringing together providers, patients, pharma, and other key stakeholders, we work with the broader clinical trial community to understand and reduce the barriers to clinical trials for historically underrepresented groups. Our research, programs, and initiatives aim to facilitate the creation of a more inclusive clinical trial ecosystem.

Defining the problem

Lack of diversity in clinical trials

Clinical trials have historically excluded communities of color and other marginalized groups in the U.S.

Our Objectives

1. Convene clinical trial experts from all subsets of healthcare to share the latest ideas and trends of including historically underrepresented groups in clinical trials.

2. Disseminate the latest research that uncovers the barriers to clinical trials as well as solutions to make clinical trials more inclusive and accessible for all.

3. Raise awareness about the homogenous nature of clinical trials and why increasing diversity in clinical trials is vital.

4. Understand the historical legacy of medical racism and lower trust in communities of color to create culturally competent approaches for clinical trial recruitment.

5. Increase the representation of BIPOC Principal Investigators and other clinical trial professionals.
